Aralon: Forge and Flame App Reviews

Pale and heartless when compared to Sword and Shadow...

I really loved Aralon Sword and Shadow, played it several times with different characters. While Aralon Forge and Flame does provide better UI and graphics than its predecessor, it seems like it doesnt have any story at all, there is just a skeleton of a story to connect a boring series of fights with extremely dumb AIs. Whenever there actually is a story snippet, it is so overloaded with stereotypes that it could in fact be intended as a RPG parody.

Cool sequel

Im liking this game a lot .. Super fun.. I wanted to keep playing when I finished the first one , now I can! Great game for the price. And I love premium games. Worth the money for sure if you like rpg games

fantastic, to make it better....

Graphically is wow. the gameplay is great so far but a jump option would be awesome. Also the very high graphics KILLS the battery on my iPhone 6 big time so in order to play without a wire, needed to put it on high or lower to play for a while without charging. and this game is worth playing in very high! Good job crescent moon games though a must buy! loved the first so far love the second!!!!

Constant Crashing

The persistence of crashing on my iPad 2 made the game virtually unplayable. Since then I have found it to work normally on an iPad Air. By todays standards, the game is not spectacular but is acceptable. Those who liked the previous Aralon will probably like this one too.

Promising once bugs are sorted

Theres a slew of fixes for bugs & exploits but nice overall if you enjoyed the first game. Suggest you save often; you can kill quest npcs if not careful. Stealing or killing allies will net you some angry guards thatll end your game quick.

Really bad compared to the first one

This second instalment is so bad compared to the first one, it feels like the developer just wanted to make some quick cash. The graphic of the name did not improve at all. The game play is same as before except you cant zoo out far enough thats comfortable. And once u aggro something it will chance you till the end of the world. This game felt like it was done quickly. Very disappointed since I loved the first one

Too short.

Good sequel but much too short. Played as a Ranger, way too easy. Some bugs need fixing.

Caves stink!

When i was playing the first cave door i couldnt get past it because it kept crashing!!! Wtf! Fix it now!

Quick playing fun

This game doesnt feel as expansive as the earlier Aralon or the Ravenswords or Shadowsun. But I ended up playing it more times-through trying different characters. Its not very difficult, without a lot of plot choices, more a "casual" rpg. A difficulty option would be a good addition. Biggest bug? The rogue skill "appear behind your target" was fun, but put you in weird spots on top of walls sometimes. Overall, no IAP, nice looking. Pretty fun, worth it.

Needs polish

Stunning graphics but gameplay is very difficult with predefined controls; targeting is very difficult, I find

13$ for IAPPS?

I payed 13$ originally for a app that did not have IAPPS and now that they have been introduced is unbelievable, It was also taken down from 13$ to 4$ which was probably to make money of people who expected it to be worth the price then IAPPS were introduced to make even more money.

One of the legend

Start to play in latest update that fixed lot of control issues many people complaining, Love every minutes I spent on the game!

Good but Short

Graphics are good , and story line ok but very short. Id say about half the gameplay of the original. Need to expand some storyline into swamp zone or lake area. But then thats an echo of the original as well :) Length is why only 4 stars.

Good game but needs some work

Good game overall but needs some work. I played the game twice but could not find a crafting table to make potions even though I had all the ingredients. There is a Minotaur king to kill but couldnt find anyone to ask me for a quest to do so. The is Valdemars keep but no reason to go there. The finale is a very short quest and should be much longer. Seems like a work in progress. Graphics are exceptionally good and the controls seem fine to me.

Garbage

Too many glitches. The first Aralon was a good game, but there are too many problems with this one; targeting issues coupled with a routine inability to use attack screen options when in battle will wind up with you dying frequently with an inconsistent save feature that may place you either in the same melée or an hours work earlier. Stick to angry birds.

Review

Whats wrong with the helmets and hoods

Too short!

As per subject, way too short, no side quests and equipment very limited. It feels like it was not completely implemented.

Much better than first

I played the first one and it was ok. After playing a few hours of this one, much more enjoyable. I payed a dollar and it is easily worth the 5 dollar price. If you liked the first, you will love this one, small fixes make it much better, a very enjoyable game..

Cant move!!

Please fix the movement, other than that i love the game.

Another great Crescant Moon RPG!!!

Gamer Tips: 1. BUY THIS GAME ITS ONLY A BUCK!!! 2. take your time! I rushed through the main quest and was disappointed when I couldnt explore a couple of the maps with the hardest baddies after I completed the main quest. Would love a way to return to the ice island and the elven island. That said I thoroughly enjoyed this game and am a huge fan of the Crescant Moon RPG. Lots to do and complete freedom over pacing and levels of exploration. The story was engaging and they did a good job foreshadowing as things went along. Would have personally liked a couple more characters/descendants from sword and shadow, but I did enjoy the ones that were there. Battles were a great balance of skill and gear. It might take you a few tries but its possible to beat badguys that maybe you arent normally a match for. The saving system was also great and I often used it to make up for accidentally stealing something or trying some foolhardy stunt. SAVE OFTEN EVERYBODY! Honestly the graphics were pretty disappointing at the beginning but they got better as you go. Still my character often sported a double knee on the right leg, the ground was occasionally quite brighter than the sky, and talking to the odd faceless character was a bit unnerving BUT ITS A PHONE GAME so its amazing for what it is. I was personally hoping for Ravensword 2 graphics in Aralon, but I understand that its not easy to make a game like that. Gameplay controls take some getting used to but work great after a while. I loved the ability to use your bow close range as well as long so you dont have to split your attention between melee and ranged. I wish the mounts in particular would have been the same as Aralon. I spend a good portion of playing time walking back to my horse who I left at the beginning of the trail of baddies. Quick Travel would make up for this. I like the resting and eating elements which add realism although I didnt think they played a big part as I completed the entire main quest without eating or sleeping! I wish there was more of a gradual level up to weapons. Being a ranger I went to the ash and stave in Tyran Ridge right away and from then on committed the rest of my skill points to agility so I could use their best ranges option. It took me about a half hour to get high enough and that bow lasted the rest of the game with nothing replacing it. It would have been neat to open a sarcophagus for example and find a super bow thats better than anything you can buy. That said Im used to how these games work so maybe I had an easier time of it than most people. Id say the same things about foes. Once I got my balanced greatbow and got the fatal shot ability I could best just about anything with ease. (Except for the Liberian Savages which now I cant go back and face properly.) Aralon and Ravensword both forced you to take side quests because the rats in the sewer would eat you alive if you tried going down there as soon as you got the quest. There were also a lot of side rooms like the thieves den that had very hard bosses that you could fight after completing most or all of the main quest. I missed those in this new installment. All in all it felt like a scaled down Aralon, but it offered yet another great RPG to waste time on! Great
